Toyota Reveals the New bZ-Based Woodland EV

Toyota announced a new version of the bZ4X a few days ago, changing its name and improving its range and drivetrain. The automaker also revealed the new bZ Woodland, which follows the Subaru Trailseeker as a larger, more rugged version of the brand’s sedate electric crossover.

Like the Trailseeker, the Woodland is around six inches longer than the base bZ, giving it a more SUV-like look and more cargo space. It features beefier all-terrain tires and a very slight 0.1-inch suspension lift, giving it 8.3 inches total. Toyota also includes roof rails.

Toyota promises a driving range of up to 260 miles from a 74.7-kWh battery and dual electric motors, slightly lower than the regular bZ’s estimates. It will leave the factory with a Tesla NACS charging port, and DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent happens in about a half-hour. The Woodland’s cabin is nearly identical to the new bZ’s updated interior, and buyers have a few options to upgrade the space, including a fixed panoramic glass roof and a JBL stereo.

Toyota hasn’t detailed pricing for the new SUV yet, but we expect a slight bump over the 2025 bZ4X’s price, which starts at a little over $40,000. More information will become available closer to the vehicle’s launch in early 2026.
